Early years children and their grown ups are invited to bring along their much-loved treasures to be carefully photographed and added to the Archive of Loved Stuff, a growing collection memorialising the sweet, the silly, and the surprising things that children form attachments to.
From the cosy and cuddly to the utterly unexpected, our little ones can sometimes surprise us with the objects and items that bring them comfort.
Early years children and their grown ups are invited to bring along their much-loved treasures to be carefully photographed and added to the Archive of Loved Stuff, a growing collection memorialising the sweet, the silly, and the surprising things that children form attachments to.
In this free-form play session, artist, arts facilitator and academic Dr Lucy Hill will show you around her mini-museum of loved things before having a little show-and-tell with all the special objects that your little ones can’t live without.
Dr Lucy Hill was awarded her PhD in art education from NCAD in 2021. Her Ph.D. project had an early year’s visual arts focus and was runner-up in the Peter Lang Young Scholars publication award. She is an Assistant Professor of Visual Art Education at Dublin City University in the School of Arts Education and Movement and was the inaugural Early Years Artist in Residence at The Ark in 2018.
Presented in partnership with URBAN96 Academy and Dublin City Council.
