“Sometimes it can seem like the world isn't built for you or you can feel like you don't belong. But why should you change who you are for the sake of others?” Sinéad Burke
Don’t miss Sinéad Burke talking about her life, career, and her children’s book debut! An influencer, activist, broadcaster, teacher and Vogue cover model, Sinéad was the first little person to attend the Met Gala. Through writing, public speaking, lecturing and social media, she highlights the lack of inclusivity in the fashion and design industries, and her collab with Lottie Dolls created the first little person doll. Sinéad is responsible for the introduction of the term 'duine beag' - little person - into Irish. Described by Chris O’Dowd as a “lovely lesson in humanity for eager young humans”, Break The Mould, with illustrations by Natalie Byrne, encourages readers to be comfortable in their own skin and discover their place in the world.
Sinéad is in conversation with ILFDublin Children's and Family Programmer Sarah Webb. Irish Sign Language: Aoife Harrington
