Using tactile images and Braille, this workshop for Blind and partially sighted people explores the art of poetry and poetic response.
Participants will be introduced to the popular poetic technique of Ekphrasis by responding to tactile images produced in relief; we will also explore collage poetry made using 3D-printed fragments of Braille. As we use the friction of touch to explore new ways of experiencing poetry, participants will reflect on their own response to the work and create their own tactile piece of poetry to take home with them.
Presented as part of our specially curated #Friction series exploring ways of breaking the boundaries of traditional literary forms.
