WONDERS OF THE SEA Design and Upcycling Family Workshop with picture book maker Chris Haughton and Lynn Haughton from The Upcycle Movement
Brother and sister team Chris and Lynn show how to make your very own Wonders of the Sea mobile from driftwood and recycled material such as ocean plastics, rope, fishing net (and Lynn’s other beach finds!). Design creatures inspired by Chris’s next book Little Crab, or come up with your very own wonders!
Chris has travelled and worked all over the world (Nepal is his favourite country!). He’s been a handyman in Paddington Station in London, worked in a diner in San Francisco, and as a teacher in Hong Kong. When he lived in Kathmandu he worked on fair trade projects and helped set up Pecha Kucha Kathmandu. Lynn founded The Upcycle Movement to challenge us to rethink what we consider ‘waste’. On a mission to design solutions to combat textile pollution, she brings new beauty and functions to otherwise redundant materials. After discovering how many wetsuits end up in landfills, she designed the Neo Collection of bags and accessories. Made from upcycled wetsuits, they’re perfect for everyday adventures!
