Ballyfermot Writers' Group & Friends present a celebration of 70 years of Ballyfermot through song, poetry, plays and art. This event will also mark the launch of the group’s book ‘The Flying Superhero Clothes Horse 2018 – Baller is 70!’ Members of the group will perform a selection of material from the book. The publication also includes contributions from Kevin Gildea, as well as renowned Ballyfermot natives such as Finbar Fury, Joe Duffy, Declan O’Rourke, Neville Thompson and Jimmy Murphy, some of whom will in attendance on the night.

All profits from the book will be donated to Dublin Simon Community.

The Flying Superhero Clothes Horse a.k.a. Ballyfermot Writers’ Group was inaugurated by magic wand and monster puff of smoke in 2016. They meet every second Wednesday in Ballyfermot Library at 6.30 to 7.45 pm to advance and celebrate Ballyfermot’s ever burgeoning creativity. The Group are currently working with local radio station Together FM, developing a dark Ballyer soap opera called Janey Macken Street! and a bright superhero adventure series called, Howie B – The flying superhero clothes horse himself, amongst other exciting projects.
