The writings of Irish literary legends, such as Yeats, Beckett, Goldsmith, Swift and Joyce, are popular texts in African education today. This event seeks to spark a discussion as to the story of Africans in the Irish Diaspora and the need to address the identity component of their educational journey, and will explore the impact an absence of African literature has on respective Africans and the role literature can play in the discovery of one’s culture & identity.
This is event is curated by Chinedum Muotto, founder of the Dublin City University Africa Society and recent graduate of the Washington Ireland Programme Class of 2016.
