The Brown Bread Mixtape is a highly-acclaimed, raucous, fun monthly variety show, hosted and curated by popular performance poet Kalle Ryan. The best contemporary Irish spoken word performers, comedians and lyrical musicians are invited to perform in their own style in response to the event theme. Plus special guests the New Performers of Dublin Young Authors, introduced by Dave Lordan.
Are you interested in writing and performing? Dublin Writers Festival, in partnership with Poetry Ireland, is looking for aspiring writers aged between 15 and 19 to take part in a series of FREE workshops that culminate in a chance to perform your own poetry, story or rap in front of a very welcoming live Brownbread Mixtape audience on May 22. Dave Lordan’s workshops are hugely popular so be sure to book early for your chance to take the stage at the 2013 Dublin Writers Festival! Dave Lordan is the author of two poetry collections, The Boy in the Ring and Invitation to a Sacrifice, and short story collection First Book of Frags. He teaches creative writing at all levels in schools and colleges.
