The best writers shape how we see the world around us. John Banville and IPUT Writer in Residence Naoise Dolan explore what it is about Dublin that continues to inspire. When a writer describes a familiar landscape so distinctly, it can be impossible to view that place in the same way again. Booker Prize winner John Banville and inaugural IPUT Writer in Residence Naoise Dolan explore the vital role writers and artists play in the life of our cities, and discuss what Dublin means to them and their work.
Writing Dublin at Wilton Park is an event and exhibition at Mary Lavin Place, the first public space in Ireland to be named after a woman writer. Located at Wilton Park on the banks of the Grand Canal, this area has a rich and interesting literary and artistic heritage. The authors will also discuss their own connections with Mary Lavin and her work.
Celebrating the inspirations of the Grand Canal, the Writing Dublin at Wilton Park exhibition explores the work of Mary Lavin and other writers and artists connected to the area.
