Journey through the city streets as guide James Murray reveals the city’s queer past from the late nineteenth-century to the present day. The tour takes in tales of resilience and celebration, from the ill-famed trials of Oscar Wilde, through the censorship of Kate O’Brien’s novels, to the flourishing careers of contemporary trans and genderqueer writers, and much more. Discover the writers whose lives and works were marked by the city, and who in turn left their own indelible mark on Dublin.
James Murray read English at Trinity and the University of Oxford. He currently researches children’s literature at Trinity. His interests include literary modernism, poetry and theories of masculinity.
