On five days during the Festival, an actor will read from a guest author’s book. If you like what you hear, you can pick up a copy at Dubray, the onsite bookshop. All featured authors are speaking at ILFD, please check the programme for details of individual events. Founded in 1986, the Gaiety School of Acting has trained many of Ireland’s most prominent actors of stage and screen, including Colin Farrell, Deirdre O’Kane, Charlie Murphy, Stuart Townsend, Dawn Bradfield and Mark O’Halloran.

Thursday 22: live reading from Eimear McBride’s The City Changes Its Face by Caoimhe Mackin

Caoimhe Mackin is a first year Gaiety School of Acting student from Dublin. Before starting the full time Professional Actor Training course, Caoimhe obtained a First Class Honours Drama degree from De Montfort University and was a part of Ardent Theatre Company’s Ardent8 project which aims to support emerging young actors from outside London who face barriers to pursuing their careers. Caoimhe is beyond excited to be involved in the International Literature Festival Dublin this year.

Wednesday 21: live reading from The Book of Records by Madeleine Thien.
Friday 23: live reading from the winning title of the Dublin Literary Award 2025.
