This year New Writing in German pairs two young authors who are taking the literary scene by storm. The stories in German writer Larissa Boehning’s acclaimed debut collection Swallow Summer showcase the dazzling intensity of her prose style as a cast of young dreamers search for love and meaning from Tel Aviv to Tucson. Since her debut collection in 2006, Austrian-American writer Ann Cotten has emerged as one of the leading poets in the German-speaking world. Her latest collection in English, I, Coleoptile, is a beautifully crafted collaboration with artist Kerstin Cmelka on the theme of ‘emergence’. The event will be chaired by writer and journalist Martina Devlin.
This event is presented in association with the Austrian Embassy Dublin and the Goethe-Institut Irland.
