Some time in 2012, Mark Graham was struck with a mad notion. Why not travel around Ireland for a year, in a dusty campervan, attending three festivals a week? For twelve gruelling months Graham did just that, seeking out festivals large and small and becoming the sixth best bog- snorkeller in Ireland in the process. His epic journey spawned a prize-winning blog, a column in The Ticket and a book, A Year of Festivals, offering a hilarious account of an unusual year. Mark attended DWF, of course, in 2013 (thankfully he enjoyed it), and this year returns to share his experiences of the sometimes mysterious ways in which the Irish like to have fun, and to launch Festival Heads, an exhibition of photos from his adventures.
