“still, after all these years, witheringly funny”
The Spectator
To mark the fiftieth anniversary of Flann O’Brien’s death, ILF Dublin in association with the Dublin City Arts Office, the Irish Theatre Institute’s PRIME initiative & Bealtaine Festival presents a rehearsed reading of his one-act play, Thirst. When a sergeant finds him serving after-hours, publican Ignatius Cornelius Coolahan regales his accuser with a protracted story of military service in the desert in the hope of tapping into his sense of thirst. Staged with the kind permission of the Estate of Evelyn O’Nolan.
