This year the Clarence Hotel plays host to our brand new Festival Club. From Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 May we’ll be hosting an enticing variety of evening events in the relaxed surroundings of the Clarence Suite. Entry is free so why not drop by, have a drink, mingle with the festival guests and enjoy some world-class music and readings.
Lisa O’Neill is rapidly emerging as one of the truest contemporary Irish folk voices – unashamedly true to her roots and with a voice so distinctive you might only fail to recognize it if Stevie Nicks ever relocated to Cavan to front a Luke Kelly tribute band. Lisa’s voice has a unique timelessness to it and is delivered with such convincing aplomb that it’s sometimes hard to believe that it’s emerging from one so young. Her independently released debut album Lisa O’Neill Has An Album came out in 2009. She recently recorded a new album with collaborator David Kitt and signed a publishing deal with Domino. The album is due for release later this year.
A captivating performer Lisa comes to the festival club to play some of her songs and talk about her approach to songwriting and the music that inspires her. Tickets Free. No booking required, timely arrival is advised as capacity is limited. Time Doors 9.15pm, start 9.45pm
