Agony Aunt extraordinaire, Attracta Tension returns to the stage once again – but this time, there’s a literary twist.
For the festival that’s in it, one of Ireland’s foremost authorities on what emotionally ails us will be taking inspiration from the literary figures that have left their mark on Merrion Square … in more ways than one.
Attracta Tension loves nothing more than sharing her considerable worldly wisdom – sometimes, bless her, through song – whilst holding court from her armchair as she reads some of her more affecting letters. Join us in Attracta’s salon for the evening – it’s what Oscar Wilde would want!
Attracta Tension is an Irish agony aunt, who describes herself as equal parts traditional panto dame and drag queen with a healthy dose of Hyacinth Bucket. She’s adorably indiscreet and we simply wouldn’t have her any other way. Her show first premiered at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, appeared at the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2017 and was nominated for the Best New Writing Award at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival for Attracta’s ever-patient companion, Andrew Deering.
