Following an open call for event proposals from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic artists and writers in February 2020, we are delighted to present six events as part of our Compass strand.
The Journey is a one woman play of monologues and dance by poet and writer Nandi Jola and directed by Jo Egan of MACHA Productions. Born in South Africa, Nandi came to live in Northern Ireland in 2001. She is a creative writing facilitator, a cultural ambassador in schools, and a founding member of the She-Wolf theatre collective. She is part of the Sky, You Are Too Big poetry collective which reads annually on Migrants Day to highlight the plight of refugees and migrants in detention. She has been published in a number of anthologies - Of Mouth, CAP, FourXFour, Bangor Literary Journal and has exhibited her work in the Long Gallery, Stormont.
Presented with support from Axis Ballymun.
