Join us for a very special evening with one of Ireland’s greatest poets, as Paul Muldoon reads poems by some of the greats from Faber and Faber’s illustrious history, to mark their 90th anniversary, as well as previewing poems from his forthcoming collection, Frolic and Detour.
Think poets as varied as Emily Dickinson, TS Eliot and Louis Macneice, with other treasures to be revealed on the night, alongside first public readings from his new work, which subtly interweaves poems about subjects large and small, including the Great War, the Irish Rising, the house wren and the day-to-day assault of twenty-first century America.
Paul Muldoon will be introduced by Toby Faber, author of Faber & Faber: The Untold History of a Great Publishing House. This will be a memorable, one-off evening to close the festival!
‘Muldoon sounds like no one else . . . [he] is still opening our eyes to the possibilities of poetry.’ Irish Times
