A very special event featuring a galaxy of YA writers from Ireland and the UK! Eason’s DeptCon is Ireland’s biggest YA convention, bringing together some of the most influential authors and personalities of the YA literary world.

New Voices 5pm - 5.45pm, signing 5.45pm - 6.15pm

With Muhammad Khan, Emma Quigley and Mary Watson, chaired by Shane Hegarty. Muhammad Khan is an engineer, maths teacher, and author; Emma Quigley writes books and scripts for television and theatre; Mary Watson was on the Hay Festival’s 2014 Africa 39 list of influential writers from sub-Saharan Africa.

Nerd Alert! 6.15pm - 7pm, signing 7pm - 7.30pm

Movies, music, comic books and much more! Brian Conaghan, Derek Landy and Katherine Webber, chaired by David O Callaghan. Brian Conaghan’s new novel, The Weight of a Thousand Feathers is out in June; Derek Landy’s new Skulduggery book Midnight will be launched at an exclusive event on Saturday 26th; and Katherine Webber’s debut is the much-loved Wing Jones.

Dark Fairytales 7.30pm - 8.15pm, signing 8.15pm to 8.45pm

Things are bound to get deep sea dark when Louise O’Neill and Deirdre Sullivan discuss Twisted Fairy Tales with Elaina Ryan from Children’s Books Ireland. Louise O’Neill’s latest book The Surface Breaks retells Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Mermaid; Deirdre Sullivan’s Tangleweed and Brine won the Senior Category at the Irish Book Awards. Presented in association with David O’Callaghan from Eason’s DeptCon.
