Party in the Park - One World, Many Stories

Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 May | 11am - 5pm

We had such fun with our Party in the Park last year that guess what… we’re having another one and you’re invited! So please join us in St. Patrick’s Park, one of Dublin’s loveliest open spaces. Enjoy The Supertones Choir, street theatre, music, storytelling, readings, face painting, balloon modelling, clown capers, comedy, music and lots more! Join in workshops in animation & cartoons, arts & crafts, or just drop by and have fun with traditional games and comedy!

Pre-booking is essential for some events, such as workshops. Some events are suitable for under 8s, others for 8+.

CREATIVITY STATION Art and craft for all ages! From toddler potato printing with Heather Gray to Wrap a Room Family Creativity Workshops, or Draw with Alan Nolan, Mags Suggs, Oisin McGann and many more fantastic artists!

BUILD A STORY Do you want to hear a story…? Storytelling from around the world with Mother Tongue, and hear all about The President’s Cat with Peter Donnelly.

RELAXED ZONE Designed for families with children on the autism spectrum or those who have sensory sensitivities. A relaxed zone with storytelling with Paul Timoney and friends, Lego and art activities.

EXPLORATION ZONE Take part in science experiments with Junior Einsteins, build a shoe box city with Sadhbh Devlin and design your own special invention with Owen O’Doherty!

Animalia Wrap-a-Room: immersive Art, Rhyme and Music Workshop inspired by animals and nature with Niamh Sharkey, Joseph Coelho & Inni-K Suitable for 8+ (visit ilfdublin.com for schedule & booking details)

First, our Animalia team of award-winning poet, Joseph Coelho, musician, Inni-K, and illustrator, Niamh Sharkey talk about and respond to each other’s work… and then it’s your turn! Led by our creative team … perhaps you’ll make our walls come alive with animals, flowers and trees? Or maybe create your own family poem (or rap!)? Our walls will be wrapped with paper, clean and fresh and waiting for your drawings, doodlings and poems.

Nature Printing Workshop with Heather Gray

Tell stories from nature by creating your own nature print with artist Heather Gray! Nature printing uses the power of sunlight to print onto blue cyanotype paper. We will use feathers, flowers, leaves, letters, shells, twigs, grass... and anything else you can find in the park to create a beautiful image from sunlight.

The Fanzinis & Ballet Poulet

Two world-class idiots are back by popular demand! The Fanzinis bring you their latest clown circus comedy masterpiece! She has prepared a poetic, delicate and tender ballet. He has prepared a bad-ass display of mayhem. She loves dancing, he loves chickens. Nut-cracking and Swan Faking their way into your lives, this street theatre comedy will make you wonder which came first…her tutu or his toupée?
