Please join as we celebrate the distinguished literary career of Jennifer Johnston, widely regarded as one of Ireland’s foremost contemporary novelists. Since the publication of her first novel The Captain and the Kings (1972), she has been a chronicler of families, dissecting human relationships and dynamics across the aging spectrum. Her many awards include a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Irish Book Awards (2012) and the Irish PEN Award (2006). In conversation with journalist and writer Arminta Wallace.
An Age & Opportunity event, presented in association with Bealtaine Festival and the Irish Writers Centre. Bealtaine celebrates arts and creativity as we age, and the Bealtaine Writers Group will contribute to the event by reading new works written for the occasion, inspired by Jennifer Johnston and her writing.
