Ireland’s history is full of incredible women, and this very special event celebrates brave and bold girls - past, present and the future! In conversation with Gráinne Clear of Little Island Books, and featuring Marita Conlon-McKenna, one of Ireland’s best loved authors whose award-winning work includes Under the Hawthorn Tree; Anna Carey whose new book, Mollie on the March features a fledgling suffragette and her best friend; Ireland’s first Laureate na nÓg Siobhán Parkinson, author of Rocking the System: Fearless and Amazing Women who Made History; and Dr Norah Patten, an aeronautical engineer who became Ireland’s first Scientist-Astronaut candidate with Project PoSSUM.

#BoldGirls is the CBI campaign to promote strong, bold and brave girls and women in children’s literature.

In partnership with Children’s Books Ireland.
